About The Team

We are an international team of business analysts and application engineers based in Switzerland and Slovakia. We are in charge of FINCO, an application for managing non-traditional re-insurance contracts. We liaise closely with other IT and non-IT teams within SwissRE. Our team has different technical and financial backgrounds and our excellent technical know-how is complemented by a strong team spirit always striving to deliver the best solution for our customers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated IT Business Analyst to join our business analysis team within Swiss Re's Information Technology division!


In this role you will have the opportunity to work in the area of a "non-traditional re-insurance contract" management and accounting system providing support for system maintenance and operations, system improvements and system integration!


Your key activities will include:

  • Gathering, discussing and analysing the requirements for the new solutions and system improvements in close partnership with our business partners and our application engineer team
  • Translating the gathered requirements into system specifications and documenting them
  • Working closely with our application engineers in the realisation phase and ensure the correct understanding and implementation of the documented specifications
  • Developing, performing and documenting function and application tests
  • Independently managing assigned tasks and subprojects
  • Monitoring and maintenance of the system functions and interfaces
  • Performing data migrations and clean-ups
  • Performing system reconciliations and data quality checks
  • Supporting the financial quarterly closing activities


About You

  • hold a University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology or equivalent
  • have strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • like to work with teams in multiple locations and business units
  • are not afraid to ask questions and to communicate with your peers
  • are flexible and open for new tasks, willing to learn permanently
  • are a self-starter, independent and responsive in character and work
  • are open minded
  • have experience with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • have a basic understanding of SQL and Data modelling

  • Your experience in insurance or re-insurance, technical or financial accounting would be an asset
  • are proficient in English, German is an asset

Minimum base salary for this job from 1200 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits.
