Financial Reporting Manager (Life Capital)

About the team

The Life Capital Finance team in Bratislava is responsible for the financial management of the Life Capital central entities, including the quarterly financial closing for US GAAP, EVM and the relevant statutory valuations.

In addition the team also contributes to the financial planning and analysis of the entities, providing quality management information for reporting and decision making, both historic and forward looking projections. We also contribute to a number of development projects.

 

About the role

This is an opportunity for you to build, develop and lead a team in the early stages of its development. We are looking for a hardworking individual who can bring knowledge and an enthusiastic 'can do' attitude to the team. The Life Capital business unit, through its Operating Entities provide access to attractive and growing primary risk pools.

 

We are now recruiting a Finance Manager with an accounting background, passionate about being involved in the growing business unit.

 

In this role you are responsible for the management and coordination of the local Bratislava Life Capital Finance team to ensure that the tasks and activities are provided with the highest quality and in accordance with deadlines. You will provide hands-on support when required, but also seek possibilities to further develop and improve the team's delivery processes. Your broad skills mean you can support and perform quality checks on output produced by your team to your main customers within Life Capital Finance.

 

Your first responsibility will be to recruit, build and maintain a team capable of fulfilling the requirements, promoting a culture in which success is dependent on an inclusive team culture.

 

Main tasks:

  • Recruit, lead, develop and manage individual and team performance
  • Provide leadership and effective management in all areas of staffing and personnel administration
  • Support comprehensive analysis and business commentaries with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to management requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurately data for internal and external reporting
  • Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
  • Support audit activities and prepare required information in connection with the external audit and other external parties
  • Liaise with stakeholders for the entities across the relevant accounting valuations (US GAAP, Swiss Stat, IFRS and EVM)
  • Represent Life Capital Finance in Bratislava

 

About you

Knowledge

  • At least five years of work experience in the financial services industry (insurance business desirable)
  • University degree in Economics, Science or Business Administration
  • Qualification in Accounting and/or Audit
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting policies and regulatory framework

Skills

  • Communicate effectively at all levels, including written and oral presentation, engaging partners as appropriate
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills, with an analytical and structured approach to work
  • Excellent analytical skills with holistic financial thinking

Experience

  • Experience in US GAAP / IFRS desirable
  • Experience in Economic valuations (Embedded Value, EVM, Solvency II) is a plus
  • Excellent command of the English language

Minimum base salary for this job from 2700 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits.
