In your role you:
•    Implement functional requirements and adapt them to event changing IT infrastructure
•    Develop and maintain robust, powerful & scalable Java/HTML/Java Script solutions
•    Participate in solution lifecycle in all its stages
•    Use of modern technology, methods and standard methodologies to build solutions users love
•    Provide technical competence and advice to business analysts and other colleagues


About the team
With more than USD 131 billion of assets under management, Swiss Re Asset Management is responsible for the management of assets generated through the core insurance and reinsurance business. With the advent of technologies such as cognitive computing, smart analytics and machine learning, we radically change our application portfolio architecture. We are changing means of distribution, investment process and investment administration. Asset Management IT leads this digital transformation with an innovative spirit and out of the box thinking. As part of this transformation, we adopted an agile way of working. There are no traditional line managers as we have moved into distributed leadership concept!


About you
•    have solid experience in all application tiers - user interface, client / server applications, backend processing and databases
•    sound knowledge and experience in HTML5, JS ecosystem (Angular, GWT, Node.js, TypeScript…)
•    hands-on with Java, JEE, SQL (ideally Oracle)
•    familiar with cloud computing (Cloud Foundry, Azure, AWS or similar)
•    can capture and document requirements and functional specifications
•    excellent verbal and written English skills
•    strong analytical and problem solving skills
•    familiar with agile frameworks and tooling (Scrum, Kanban)

Anything of below is a plus:
o     working experience with Unix, Shell scripting or NoSQL databases (MongoDB…) or Webservices (REST, WSDL, …)
o    high level understanding of the Asset Management business and processes
o    good understanding of Financial Markets products including:
•    Key attributes of securities and derivatives products
•    A solid understanding of how the products work operationally end to end
•    Basic knowledge of valuation methods, sensitivities, performance metrics and attribution, market data etc.

Minimum base salary for this job from 1700 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits. We are required by law to disclose basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised positions. We carefully consider your professional competencies, qualifications and experience in our compensation package and/or when offering you other positions. Our compensation philosophy is to pay fairly, also considering market situation and the value employees may bring to Swiss Re.
