About the Role
 

We are looking for a proactive, experienced team lead to manage and develop the iptiQ EMEA Technical Accounting function. The position has numerous day-to-day operational finance responsibilities including the leadership of a multi-layered team, alongside accounting, reporting, analytics and providing commentaries according to the appropriate policies for Group, Local Branch & Entity valuations. The role acts as a key Finance contact for the wider iptiQ, Swiss Re and Finance organisations.

 

Your primary responsibilities will be:


•    Manage, develop and be responsible for a team of accounting experts
•    Assign work and manage individual and team performance
•    Provide leadership and effective management in all areas of staffing and personnel administration
•    Represent iptiQ Finance Operations on change and platform development projects relevant to the function (including new deals)
•    Stakeholder management for relevant iptiQ entities across the relevant accounting valuations (US GAAP, Lux stat and IFRS)
•    Perform quality and consistency checks on deliverables and outputs
•    Support comprehensive analysis and business commentaries with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities 
•    Oversee Third Party Policy Administrator activity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of incoming data.
•    Management of Finance operations activities, such as Cash, Credit Risk, AP, expenses.
•    Assist preparation of timely and accurately data for internal and external reporting
•    Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
•    Support audit activities and prepare requested information in connection with the external audit and other external parties, like regulators or other governmental institutions
•    Perform ad-hoc tasks as the need arises

About You


•    7+ years of work experience in the financial services industry (insurance business desirable)
•    University degree in economics, science or business administration
•    Qualification in accounting or audit (or qualified by experience)
•    Knowledge regarding statutory accounting policies and regulatory framework
•    Analytical skills with ability to see the bigger picture
•    Strong interpersonal skills - able to describe complex issues in a clear and concise fashion
•    Leadership experience
•    Experience in economic valuations (EVM, Solvency II) is a plus
•    Experience in USGAAP/IFRS desirable
•    PC skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
•    Engaging and motivating persona
•    Excellent command of the English language

 

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 2600 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
