Third-Party Environmental and Social Governance/Sustainability Specialist (Hybrid)

About the Role

This position handles, designs, and completes sustainability activities in support of the overall effective management of Swiss Re's third parties on a global basis. You will play a role in developing and maintaining relationships with internal partners to assist them in understanding and developing sustainability capabilities to meet regulatory, compliance and governance requirements. Internally, you will advise and consult with a network of employees spanning all third party types and leadership, business units, divisions and functions, regions, and nearly all Swiss Re office locations. Externally, you will engage with third parties Swiss Re engages with, third-party ESG providers, and professional sustainability organizations and/or think tanks. •    Understand the third party life-cycle and risk management processes by which third parties are classified, analysed, selected, on-boarded and monitored according to Swiss Re's policies and standards, ensuring compliance with legal, compliance, operational, and regulatory requirements from a global perspective. 
•    Responsible for the oversight, execution, and reporting of third party sustainability framework and activities in the value chain supporting third parties, and other cross functional teams working on sustainability.
•    Support Swiss Re's external disclosure requirements by supporting Swiss Re's Sustainability Reporting Program and delivering required output.
•    Responsible for the timely and accurate execution of sustainability due diligence activities for newly onboarded and existing third parties using internal and external solutions.
•    Leads and develops partnerships with Procurement's external service provider contacts.
•    Strengthen ESG in end-to-end third party life-cycle.
•    Maintains sustainability records in compliance with policies, guidelines, and regulations.
•    Collaborates with internal subject matter experts, auditors, and others as needed.

You will be part of a virtual and global team. The team consists of individuals with strong interpersonal skills with and ability to effectively and openly communicate with each other as well as with other colleagues and partners within the remit of this role's responsibilities. 

 

About You
  
Education:
•    Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Environmental Sciences
 
Experience Essentials (must haves):
•    >3 years of diversified sustainability/business experience, and/or research work, and/or philanthropic work; international experience an advantage.
•    Strong sustainability commitment and passion; solid understanding of sustainability methodologies, especially ESG requirements and carbon measurement criteria.
•    Demonstrated sustainability management, monitoring, negotiation, influencing, and reporting experience.
•    Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
•    Business level fluency in English.
•    Above average Microsoft office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint. Visio is a plus.
  
Nice to haves:
•    Ability to interact successfully with external third parties, auditors, and professional organizations.
•    Experience in business analysis, project management, data analytics would be an advantage.
•    Experienced and comfortable working in a virtual and global environment, with a track record of delivering results in this setting and context.
•    Knowledge, understanding and experience with latest regulatory requirements such as CSRD/ESRS, RBI, CSDDD etc. would be of advantage.
•    Experience with third party management software platforms such as OneTrust, Coupa, etc.
•    Third party due diligence, integration, and process experience a plus.

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 1800 and EUR 2900 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.

 In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
