About the Role

Become a part of a growing and dynamic entrepreneurial team within the established Swiss Re Group. Life Capital comprises a number of start-up units, established to provide innovative protection solutions directly to consumers. Our mission is to reduce the protection gap by simplifying life insurance and making it more accessible to people. This means making life insurance easier to sell, to buy and to trust.


Risk Management are responsible for setting out the conditions under which the Company is willing to take risk, its risk tolerance and its risk management principles. We make sure that our Boards and Senior Management are aware and understand the risk exposures, risk landscape and the functioning of the risk governance framework our entity. 


Our team is small and dynamic, and evolving with the growing business. The team's remit is global, covers all areas of Risk Management across the BU and provides support to the Life Capital legal entity CROs. Team members will be involved in all aspects of Risk Management covering, risk oversight, risk/capital modelling, risk reporting/governance, risk steering, actuarial, operational risk management.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the global growth of the Life Capital BU. You will work closely with the business on key strategic projects and new opportunities, helping deliver the rapid growth of the BU.


About You

•    Passionate about working in the fast-paced environment of a young insurance company committed to the digitalization of life insurance business
•    An independent and critical thinker, willing to challenge constructively, with a can-do-attitude, curious and keen to learn
•    Comfortable working in an area that is fluid and dynamic and able to handle multiple deliverables and ambiguity
•    Strong understanding of Solvency II regulations, especially ORSA and standard formula requirements
•    Quantitative risk management knowledge/experience covering solvency, capital management, financial market and insurance (L&H and P&C) risks
•    Good knowledge of L&H and P&C (re)insurance products, markets and risks
•    Commercial awareness. Proactive and collaborative approach to working with the business
•    Credibility and influence with senior management
•    Excellent analytic and quantitative skills
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
•    Understanding of Risk Management frameworks and governance aspects
•    A quantitative degree with around 10 years of insurance experience


Minimum base salary for this job from 2500 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits.
