About the Role

 

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will use your knowledge of testing to influence better software design, promote proper engineering practice, bug prevention strategies, testability, accessibility, privacy, and other advanced quality concepts across products. You will work alongside with Business Analyst, Product Owner and Developers implementing a robust automated testing framework and ensuring the final product is meeting the client's expectation. Your responsibilities include:

  • Implementation and supervision for automated testing with focus on end-to-end testing
  • Lead end-to-end testing initiatives throughout the entire software development lifecycle from test planning, test design, test execution, and test reporting. This includes performance testing, stress testing, front end and back end testing
  • Ensure completeness of the frontend test coverage according to the business objectives by defining testing setup and metrics; designing test cases and procedures as well as documenting the testing results accordingly.
  • Creating and maintaining testing scripts using automated testing tools.
  • Writing and debugging test cases, as well as analysing and reviewing testing results
  • Working closely with team Developers, IT Product Owner and Business Analyst to create and improve the overall automated testing process.

About You

 

Qualified applicants will have the following:

  • A 5+ years of experience in developing tests for web applications in a software delivery organization
  • A deep understanding of multiple forms of software testing throughout the entire SDLC: regression, functional, unit, black-box, white box, UAT, usability, stress testing, performance testing...
  • Advanced knowledge of automated testing and ability to develop test frameworks in scripting and/or object-oriented languages
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs services and methods.
  • Experience with at least some of the most common automated testing tools, such as: Selenium, Cucumber, SoapUI, Catalon, Postman, Ranorex, TestCafe etc.
  • You have a background in agile software development and embrace agile values
  • Familiarity with Devops principles and Continuous Integration – CI/CD
  • Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX commands and ability to work with git commands.

Minimum base salary for this job from 1700 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits. We are required by law to disclose basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised positions. We carefully consider your professional competencies, qualifications and experience in our compensation package and/or when offering you other positions. Our compensation philosophy is to pay fairly, also considering market situation and the value employees may bring to Swiss Re.
