Underwriter Special Risks (Crime)
We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Crime Underwriter for our global Facultative Crime portfolio!
About the Role
Based in Bratislava, with team members also in Zurich, you will play a vital role in assessing and underwriting facultative business across diverse markets worldwide. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to deepen your expertise in reinsurance and advance your career within a dynamic, global environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Gathering and analyzing relevant information to properly evaluate and price exposures (emphasis is on assessing risk quality, understanding the underlying insurance coverage, wordings & clauses and the loss history).
- Ensure underwriting decisions align with Group guidelines, capacity limits, and risk appetite, and are compliant with the Group's code of conduct.
- Work closely with facultative colleagues, treaty underwriters, client executives, and other teams to support effective risk assessments and broaden our portfolio’s impact.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers to secure a consistent submission flow, while actively seeking opportunities to grow and strengthen our business.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements, continually enhancing the way we work.

Other than that, you also:
- Hold a university degree or equivalent.
- Have sophisticated analytical skills.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural and multi-location environment.
- Have entrepreneurial acumen, are commercially pro-active and able to think strategically.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Any additional language is a plus.
- Are prepared to travel.
- Having experience in insurance and facultative reinsurance is a plus.
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between 2000 EUR and 3 300 EUR per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
