About the Role

The Head of Investment Reporting E&A is a member of the Global Investment Reporting (GIR) team located in Kansas City, Bratislava and Bangalore. The successful candidate will manage a team of professionals in Bratislava, who provides investment accounting and reporting services for invested assets of several Swiss Re entities. The person will function as an intermediary between GIR and its stakeholders and will actively connect with senior management ensuring timely and accurate delivery of the investment figures. The Head of Investment Reporting E&A has to play a pivotal role in the current projects which design the future operating model of the GIR team. The role requires close alignment and coordination across various locations and therefore the position holder should have a strong preference to work in a global team set up! Furthermore, the holder of the position is also accountable for all HR related topics in the Bratislava location.

Main Tasks

  • Supervise all reporting areas for legal entities under the scope of the Bratislava team and under all relevant accounting policies such as US GAAP, IFRS, SII, local statutory and EVM (Swiss Re's internal economic valuation method)Ensure compliance with accounting policies through maintaining an effective internal control environment
  • Be responsible for all monitoring aspects of the outsourced functions and in close collaboration with the Outsourcing Relationship Manager provide relevant input to ensure overall health of the processes in question
  • Collaborate and drive alignment with the various reporting functions in the different locations
  • Own all activities related to people management including performance review, efficient resource planning and talent development
  • Continuously strive for efficient and effective processes to be in place, in line with the dynamic reporting requirements
  • Advice management with interpretation and analysis of key investment figures.
  • Handle stakeholders at all levels and communicate effectively with partners to ensure alignment on common goals and expectations
  • Anticipate issues and develop appropriate and timely solutions independently. Provide business decision relevant input!
  • Engage in tasks and projects which are relevant to GIR and the overall department

About You

  • 7+ years in Finance, Accounting or Audit with respective Accounting Qualification or ACCA
  • Significant experience in accounting and reporting with focus on investments or banking industry
  • Experience in a managerial / leadership position, preferably leading teams in the financial industry (e.g. banking, insurance) and in an international environment
  • Strategic approach with good communication and change management skills
  • Strong interest in digitalisation and automation
  • Ability to drive initiatives and strategic projects effectively whilst being flexible and open for new tasks and challenges
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Excellent time leadership skills



Minimum base salary for this job from 2500 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits. *
