About the role


Are you passionate about VAT, a field that is increasingly important in the world of tax? Do you want to work in a team with strong links to colleagues in other locations? 
This role features preparation of VAT returns for EMEA entities and Canadian GST returns for submission to tax authorities, as well as providing input into IT transformation projects.


What does the role offer?
•    Prepare VAT/GST returns, European Sales List, Supplementary Declarations and additional country specific reports on a timely basis.
•    Generation of monthly and quarterly VAT journals, ensuring VAT is posted to the correct account, cost centre and entity. 
•    Review and prepare VAT reports to ensure VAT has been correctly accounted for and is reported in the correct period.
•    Ensure VAT payments and receipts are correctly booked and VAT postings are completed and reconciled.
•    Process payment requests
•    Actively look for and support the implementation of improvements to the way we do things
•    Perform other position related tasks as required by manager.

 

In addition you will:
•    Help support the group's finance transformation and automation projects
•    Provide cover for roles in other teams if needed

Group Tax Operations is a key team within Swiss Re's Group Tax department. We are the biggest team in the department and work with colleagues in multiple countries.

 

About You

•    You have previous VAT accounting experience preferably at a European level
•    You are educated to degree level 
•    You are a fluent English speaker, other languages an advantage
•    You have an interest in developing your technological skills 
•    You have excellent verbal and written communication skills 
•    You have a good level of numeracy
•    You are able to work accurately to strict reporting deadlines
•    You have the motivation and ability to adapt to change 
•    You appreciate collaborating with colleagues in a varied team

 

Minimum base salary for this job from 1500 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits.*
