About The Role

The candidate will be a member of Group Tax, specifically reporting to the Head Tax EMEA & Direct Tax Operations. They will work closely with colleagues based in regional tax teams, the Transfer Pricing team, business unit Finance teams, and other colleagues across the group. 

The role will involve leadership of the Bratislava based Direct Tax Operations team consisting of around eight personnel. The position holder will be a member of the local Bratislava finance leadership group coordinating the strategic development of the finance function in the location.

Key Responsibilities: 
•    Representing Group Tax as a member of the Bratislava finance leadership group
•    Lead and support quarterly and annual tax reporting process across multiple valuations (US GAAP, EVM, local statutory and Solvency II) 
•    Coordination and management of Direct Tax Operations team duties, such as preparation of income tax returns, preparation of quarterly tax reporting numbers
•    Handle collaboration with regional tax directors and local tax team members
•    Submit tax returns and handle payments
•    Review and submit withholding tax returns
•    Be an excellent partner for our finance teams
•    Business ownership of tax applications 
•    Supporting and coordinating with tax and finance transformation projects
•    Identifying operational improvements and efficiencies
•    Support internal audit reviews of tax function


About The Team

The role is within the EMEA & Direct Tax Operations team. This team provides direct tax compliance and reporting tax support to the Swiss Re Group of companies; it provides advice and guidance on day-to-day operational queries. 

About You

•    At least 5 years work experience of relevant tax advisory and compliance in advisory practice or within the tax team of a global financial services company
•    People leader
•    Tax or accounting qualified preferred

Minimum base salary for this job from 2500 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits.*
