About the Team


The Credit and Surety portfolio is part of Corporate Solutions and caters to the following lines of business. Bank trade and infrastructure finance, Surety, Political Risk Insurance, Trade Credit Insurance. The team is building a core underwriting and administration system called BTIP. This application will be built for the future on azure cloud, enabling ease of integration with Micro Services, and a loosely coupled architecture. The application will integrate with multiple systems such as SiRC, Manhattan, PRODLIB, External Portal etc. The development will comprise of 4 Squads. 2 Functional Squads, Integration squad, Operations and Automation squad. Cloud is an important aspect of the architecture and each of the squads will have an embedded Cloud Architect.

About the Role

As a senior-level Cloud Architect on the team, you'll apply your knowledge of architectural principles and Azure technologies to architect and design the application for Azure public cloud. Together with C & S team members, you will provide architecture, design and hands on coding support and technical guidance to the squads, implement POCs to pave the way, and join them as needed in key refactoring, migration, coding, and troubleshooting responsibilities, especially those requiring senior-level expertise.


Your responsibilities include:


  • Application architecture and design.
  • Application hosting on compute services such as Azure App Service and Azure Functions.
  • Messaging via Azure Service Bus.
  • Security refactoring (e.g., moving to modern authn/authz protocols such as OIDC & OAuth2 with Azure AD and/or Okta; possible usage of Cloudflare).
  • Database migration (primarily from Oracle to PostgreSQL; Azure SQL and CosmosDB may also be used in some cases).
  • ETL process migration to Azure Logic Apps and/or Azure Data Factory.
  • Establishment of DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines for build & deployment, application monitoring, etc.



About You


•             You have a proven experience in agile software engineering & architecture

•             You have 2+ years of Cloud technology experience

•             Azure experience is mandatory

•             You know the important technologies on the CNCF landscape map

•             You've mastered many technologies over your career and quickly pick up new ones when needed

•             You have a strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, 12-factor app principles, and software patterns

•             You are ready and able to roll up your sleeves to code in Java (and potentially other languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript) when needed

•             Experience with container technologies is a plus

•             Proficiency in English is mandatory.

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 2 000 EUR full time.
