Senior Financial Analyst FP&A Services

General Accountability: 

 

The Corporate Solutions Global FP&A Services & Data Management team supports stakeholders with financial deliverables to enable analysis, insights and reporting activities in relation to financial reporting, performance management and steering of the regional and product results. We are constantly developing and strengthening our capabilities to act as true business partners and providing insightful and meaningful analysis and reporting to our decision makers.  Working within the Finance Corporate Solution team, you will join a highly motivated and dynamic team within an interesting and complex environment and will get the opportunity to build up analytical capabilities to further enhance reporting / visualization. 

 

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will support the FP&A teams in their quarterly closing activities of the Nominal, US GAAP and IFRS financial valuations. This includes data extraction, curation, reconciliation, and publication of management reports and financial analyses. This position offers a unique opportunity to get a strong overview of some of the most interesting corporate insurance products of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, coupled with very close collaboration with regional and product teams.


Key responsibilities include:


•    Perform specific reconciliations to source financial systems, ensuring accurate quarterly reporting of Nominals, US GAAP and IFRS
•    Prepare management reports and performance analysis, while actively participating in automation of current processes, using analytic data model and visualization applications
•    Act as business partner to other finance functions and the business, through delivery of high quality and timely performance management information and insights
•    Provide customized / ad-hoc performance and analysis


The ability to perform the above tasks with a high degree of autonomy, while leveraging on and working closely with all relevant stakeholders.
       
Position requirements


Educational/Professional


•    University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance/accounting/economics 
•    At least 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the insurance/reinsurance industry
•    Previous project management skills desirable. Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into report/presentations design and processes
•    Strong ability to analyse and interpret financial data 
•    Experience with data visualization tools and applications such as Tableau, Analytic Data Models, etc.

 

Key skills and knowledge


•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output on short deadlines and manage details without losing site of the "big picture"
•    Experience/knowledge of financial accounting methodologies desirable
•    Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and experiences.  Flexibility to work in both a collaborative team environment as well as independently
•    Team player with clear communication skills with demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, challenge the status quo, and implement change
•    Agile and flexible, ability to operate within a changing environment and navigate ambiguity. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and prioritize
•    Capable of building trust with all areas of the business 
•    Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
•    Stress resilient, with the ability to work independent
•    Demonstrate personal accountability for area of responsibility
•    Advanced excel skills desirable

 

Other activities/accountabilities that may be required from Employee:
 

•    Perform other position related tasks as instructed by Supervisor
•    Provide cover for roles in other teams
•    Any other ad hoc tasks as required from time to time 
•    Some travel to Swiss Re locations may be required

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 1700 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
