About the Role

The Americas actuarial team within Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is looking to hire an actuary dedicated to our growing E&S Property business segment. The role is responsible for evaluating portfolio profitability, identifying improvements to our rating methodology/parameters, and building relationships with key business partners. In addition, we are looking for someone interested in exploring innovative ways of evaluating property risk exposure that goes beyond traditional approaches.

About the Team

We are the actuarial team providing support to multiple Corporate Solutions businesses across North and Latin America. We support a variety of offerings including Property, Casualty, Accident & Health, and Financial Products. Key responsibilities for our team include loss ratio projections, rating plan development, and parameter updates. We work closely with our business partners and encourage innovation that supports traditional methods. This role will report directly to the Head of Actuarial Services for the Americas within Corporate Solutions.

About You

  • FCAS or ACAS credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society
  • 7-10 years of experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience will also be considered
  • Commercial property ratemaking experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic, self starter, and able to meet defined deliverable dates
  • Interest in combining traditional ratemaking methods with new ones that rely on emerging data sets
  • Good communication skills and desire to work with actuaries as well as business leaders
  • Experience with SQL, R, and/or Python preferred but not required
  • Role can be based in Chicago, Kansas City or New York City
