About the Role

We are looking for someone who thrives in a role that requires high-level interaction and coordination with underwriters, near-shore/off-shore, other functional areas including, but not limited to Products, Finance, Claims and Policy Processing.

Customer centric individuals who enjoy daily interaction via telephone, e-mail, or in person with customers while delivering valuable service will succeed in this role.

 

  • Conduct preliminary deal analysis; prepare applicable account data for review by underwriter or client manager.
  • Daily collaboration and coordination with team members, Underwriters, Team Leads and both internal and external clients.
  • Underwriting support with the handling of renewals, new business, invoicing and endorsements.
  • Review, verify and organize detailed source documents from clients applying standard guidelines and procedures to determine next steps.
  • Partner with the client or process owner to resolve any errors and complete the transaction.
  • Where applicable, prepare documents for issuance and review for customer acceptance.
  • Written and verbal communication with colleagues and clients in timely responses to inquiries regarding files, records and other documentation.
  • Collaborate in developing concepts, processes, and critical success factors for achieving high success in operations.
  • You will have the opportunity to participate on special projects, as assigned.

 

 

About the Team

 

Our team supports the Underwriting functions of North America General Property. We handle tasks ranging from the review of incoming submissions to problem resolution with our Underwriters and Agents. Our Underwriting Associates are knowledgeable workers who contribute to the overall success of our business unit. This is a dynamic organization with a team that stretches around the world!

 

 

About You

 

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant insurance experience in Underwriting support.
  • Experience composing business correspondence.
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial (property / casualty) insurance principles and practices preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Detail oriented individuals strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of arithmetic and algebra, administrative and clerical procedures including managing files and records, general economic and accounting principles, and principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes meeting established time and quality standards ensuring customer client happiness and success.
  • Proven ability working in globally located team situations, understanding and demonstrating sensitivity toward cultural differences.
  • Strong customer focus and service orientation.
  • Successful working collaboratively in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor personal work plan to remain current on deliverables with oversight of multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent listening, reading, written, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Fully proficient in the English language.
