Professional Liability Underwriter

About The Team:

We are looking for a pro-active, highly motivated and results oriented Underwriter to join the Financial & Professional Services team (FinPro) as we continue to expand and diversify our products within the US A&E and Contractor space.

About The Role:

This is an Underwriter position for someone with experience in the professional liability segment preferably with architects, engineers, contractors and/or construction. Responsibilities include underwriting and pricing individual risks within corporate standards and individual underwriting authority. Your main tasks will be analyzing the insurability of each risk with respect to risk profile, coverage, structure, pricing, and endorsements.

The underwriter must have very strong communication, listening, empathy and collaboration skills as a large part of the job includes building strong, client relationships by understanding client requirements and expectations.

The position is open to New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, or potentially other locations within the United States. Team members are located across the US and work in a highly collaborative fashion.

About You:

Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience in the Professional Liability market – preferably the US Construction PI market
Experience with flow/high volume underwriting within an underwriting platform is a plus
Network of broker and client contacts
Strong technical underwriting background and focus on customer service
High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Team player, driven, open-minded, and inquisitive
Good computer skills and knowledge of software applications
Willingness to travel occasionally
