About the role

(This position can be located in Armonk, NY, Chicago IL or Kansas City, MO)


You will be responsible for supporting the business in the evolution of our system landscape as we look to offer a continuous improved user experience for our customers, support our client commitment promise and deliver operational efficiencies.  To be successful in this role and deliver on these exciting opportunities, you will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to build a strong partnering with the claims handlers and claims operations units, as well as build strong relationships with our internal IT teams and with our vendors in order to drive change in an agile manner.


Main tasks will include:

  • Provide support to the business addressing incidents and problems.
  • Working with the business to identify system enhancements that enable us to provide the best customer experience possible.
  • Working closely with the business to capture all the relevant analytical artefacts for system changes i.e. Business requirements, process flow diagrams, test criteria etc.
  • Collaboration with the internal IT teams and vendors to ensure the implementation is in line with the business requirement.


About the team


In this position, you are part of an enabled, cross functional team supporting the Swiss Re Corporate Solution's North American Claims Administration system and its integration with surrounding systems.  We are in transition to agile operating model.  The team's primary focus is to consistently provide superior customer service to our claims business partners.  We respond to requests for new business critical products and functionality.  To ensure consistent customer focus, strong relationships have been built with our business partners and vendors.



About You


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations. 
  • Ability to cultivate networks throughout an organization to gather support and create a foundation for future influence
  • Sound decision-making skills and ability to take decisive action
  • Ability to align priorities of own area with the direction and priorities of the broader organization
  • Demonstrate a willingness to adapt to shifting or competing priorities and try new things, even at the risk of failure.
  • Familiarity with Commercial Claims and/or Commercial Insurance a plus
  • Understanding of data models / table structures with proven ability to create / execute SQL, conduct data analysis and develop conclusions
  • Ability to align priorities of own area with the direction and priorities of the broader organization
  • Demonstrate a willingness to adapt to shifting or competing priorities and try new things, even at the risk of failure
