About the role

 

The role supports our Marine Hull Underwriting Team in Genoa in the handling of insurance business for our corporate customers and their brokers. Duties and responsibilities directly impact productivity, process efficiency, timeliness, profitability and accuracy of the underwriting process as well as the service delivery to customers and brokers. This position might require occasional travel for business meetings or training purposes

 

Your main tasks will include the following:

 

•    To accurately reflect the terms and conditions of business written in our administration systems
•    Create and maintain electronic records and hard copies if required, following established guidelines and processes
•    Support underwriting and Operation units in daily business tasks
•    To be in contact with brokers in case of needs
•    Interact with on-shore/off-shore staffs and handle document processing for teams supported, as appropriate
•    Support cash collection activities

 

Additionally you will:

 

•    Compile, sort, review and verify data accuracy using source documents, detect errors, and initiate correction while following-up with customer or process owner regarding any inconsistencies found
•    Follow-up on outstanding documents or items, as per internal guidelines following standard operating procedures
•    Perform assigned rule-based tasks following standard operating procedures
•    Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural environment

 

About the team


In EMEA Operations we provide support to the Corporate Solutions (CorSo) Underwriting Teams in handling insurance and reinsurance business for corporations and/or their captives.
You will be joining the local Operations team based in Genoa, Italy which consist of a variety of proficiencies, skills and experience, all committed to bring success to Corporate Solutions. In this role you will work closely with the EMEA Operations teams in centralized and offshore locations as well as your peers in other EMEA locations.

About You


You are:

You have:


•    Minimum 2 years of meaningful job experience. Understanding of Re/Insurance business principles is a key element
•    Basic Marine Hull Insurance Knowledge is a plus - any additional other line of business experience is very welcome
•    Excellent communication skills (reading, written and verbal) in Italian and English
•    competency in intermediate level math administrative and clerical procedures and general economic/ accounting principles
•    Analytical skills and attention to details
•    The ability to prioritize, plan, take task's ownership, coordinate and manage personal work
•    Good skills in Microsoft Office Package (special focus on Excel)
