About the Role


The Group Security Hub Manager reports directly to the Head of Group Security. Group Security is part of Chief Security Officer (CSO) function which is the principal point for all security activities across Swiss Re.

Main work activities cover coordination and facilitation of safety and security, business continuity and incident management programme within APAC. Reviewing the location safety/security setup, as well as incident management and business continuity preparedness and plans for all Swiss Re locations in the region.

The Group Security Manager APAC identifies potential issues that could threaten the Swiss Re Group and provides a framework for building resilience and the capability for an effective response.


Key Responsibilities:

Safety & Security

  • Co-ordinates, trains and supports the safety/security organization for Swiss Re locations in APAC.
  • Re-enforce and promote adherence to relevant S&S policies and standards
  • Is involved in setting up local security concepts for large events.
  • Provides consultancy and security design approval in construction projects in APAC region.
  • Assesses security related information to determine the probability/impact on Swiss Re operations in order to develop appropriate preventive measures.
  • Manages travel security oversight and providing support for business travellers
  • Fosters teamwork and team spirit amongst Location Safety & Security Officers and Business Continuity Managers in APAC, collaborating closely with Head Safety & Physical Security, APAC on operational matters.


Incident Management

  • Conducts training and exercises for local Incident Management Teams.
  • Supports Incident Management Teams and Location Heads and takes an active part during actual incidents and business disruptions.
  • Evaluates incidents and provides lessons learned from a governance perspective.


Business Continuity Management

  • Provides guidance and support to Location Business Continuity Managers in developing and maintaining their preparedness plans
  • Provides independent assurance review over local business impact analysis and business continuity plans
  • Facilitates knowledge exchange the region-specific Business Continuity Managers network.
  • Monitors developments in the continuity risk landscape in APAC, and assists locations in developing preventive, protective and post-event mitigation measures.


Compliance and controlling activities

  • Monitors adherence to relevant policies and standards (e.g. safety and security, business continuity, event and travel security
  • Conducts risk-based on-site safety/security and business continuity reviews.
  • Issues recommendations for incident preparedness and response improvements.
  • Analyses operational reports and proposes remediation actions
  • Assist with internal security investigations 

Representation activities

  • Represents Swiss Re in safety/security and business continuity management related professional associations in APAC.
  • Interacts as necessary with intelligence services and private/public sector organisations in APAC.

About You


  • Minimum of 5 years of professional-level experience in similar security and business continuity role
  • A diploma or degree in a safety/security, business continuity or incident management discipline
  • Experience in incident and business continuity management (exercises and real incidents), including use of respective tools
  • Strong English skills, both verbal and written;
  • Understanding of digital technologies, e.g. mobile apps, mass notification and training tools is beneficial
  • A good ability to visualise and explain issues to wider audiences, at all levels
  • High competence working with the MS Office Suite, including SharePoint
  • Able to travel if needed
