About the Role

 

-    Develop, implement and maintain governance guidelines and quality control for a robust operations of Asia L&H Claims Team. 
-    Assist in coordinating management reports with Asia & ANZ L&H Claims Team to share the KPI, market experience and insights with the senior management.
-    To maintain and enhance infrastructure to facilitate the sustainable functionality of claims.
-    Responsible for product risk management by managing the Asia CI definition centralized database.
-    Claims portfolio monitoring, data deep dives to gather insights from claims data to identify trends of portfolios which require further analysis, and coordinating further analysis with specialist resources with the wider team
-    Research and development, specifically researching and reporting on new and developing innovation in claims,product development, and the subsequent creation of industry presentations and thought leadership pieces
-    The development of training materials and programs in line with client requirements and emerging topics
-    Support local markets to assess and provide expert opinons on client claims case referrals,  and ensure those are within the terms and conditions of the policy and pricing assumptions.
-    Depending on the needs of local markets, assist in conducting Claims Review/Audits within internal framework, and provide suggestion to both the technical claims decision and operational efficiency to enhance clients' claims standards.
-    Responsible for ad-hoc and ongoing Global and Asia regional claims projects as assigned and agreed with the Line Manager.

 

About the Team

 

Swiss Re Life and Health (L&H) Claims forms part of the Swiss Re L&H Business Management function which is responsible for managing in-force business and the related operations. There are four units within the Business Management division; Claims, Actuarial Management, Portfolio Management and Technical Accounting. In addition to the in-force management of existing business, Business Management ensures insights gained from in-force business are appropriately incorporated in our new business activities. 


L&H Business Management works closely with other Swiss Re teams specifically L&H Products and Client Markets to ensure Swiss Re has aligned priorities and client focus whilst delivering market-specific, portfolio-directed services, which support our overall strategic approach to managing risks and client relationships.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to become part of the Swiss Re L&H Business Management team and collaborate with clients and various teams within Swiss Re locally and regionally. This role will be instrumental in the implementation of a meaningful and relevant claims philosophy whilst promoting and sharing best practice claims management techniques with clients and internal stakeholders.  

 

Reporting to the Claims Ops & Quality Assurance Manager of L&H Business Management, you will work to develop, maintain and implement governance, reporting, and regional operation services to ensure the functioning of the Asia L&H Claims Team in above respects and adherence to the relevant guidelines.
 

About You

 

Education and professional experience:
-    Tertiary level qualification in either insurance/business/financial services/law/medical disciplines.
-    More than 6 years experience in claims in insurance or reinsurance companies.

 

Skills requirements:
-    Understanding and knowledge of the Life & health insurance/reinsurance industry including technical claims and product knowledge.
-    Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills.
-    Substantial collaboration capabilities and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
-    Expertise in handling and analyzing large quantities of data 
-    Courage to challenge the status quo, to explore new ideas that improve our business 
-    Demonstrated ability to develop and innovate solutions (product development and services).
-    Ability to step back from details to see the bigger picture.
-    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, other language is a plus.
