About the Role

 

Strategic Goal of Team:

 

  • Sustain and promote key Swiss Re (SR) relationships at all levels, extending our profile/positioning as a leading reinsurer in the market.
  • Execute Client Management functionality to achieve strategic, business and financial targets as per approved Business Plan across all lines of business in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

 

Major responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and maintain relationship with our clients at all levels, including the working level, C-suites, decision-makers and key influencers of assigned clients.  Deliver appropriate solutions to meet with the client’s strategic growth aspirations, as well driving new reinsurance demands from the markets to meet Swiss Re's own growth aspirations.
  • Ensure Swiss Re (and generally you as the client manager) is the first port of call for assigned clients
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of clients, with optimal and efficient utilisation of SR resources and at all times ensuring appropriate premium, profitability and customer satisfaction targets are met
  • Develop business plans including marketing objectives and strategies in respect of the portfolio of clients in assigned markets
  • Identify opportunities to work with assigned clients by delivering SR value propositions, and to secure business to meet plan. Strive continually to exceed client expectation.
  • Take leadership internally across various functions to ensure the teams are aligned to perform optimally for our clients

 

About the Team

 

The Client Manager team is to build and promote key business relationships for Swiss Re with our clients in Hong Kong and Taiwan. This includes business origination, day to day account maintenance and key relationship development. The role offers established technicians in areas of product development or risk management the exposure to sales and business development.

 

About You

 

  • Minimum 10 to 12 years of relevant life insurance or reinsurance experience, preferably with regional or international exposure
  • Action orientated with ‘hunger’ to achieve great results
  • Outgoing, confident with excellent social skills, written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Self-starter, problem solver, creative, entrepreneurial, persistent, determined, ability to learn quickly and think on one's feet
  • Excellent marketing and negotiation skills with a focus client value creation
  • Good network of insurer contacts in the region as well as knowledge of Hong Kong & Taiwan markets and clients would be advantageous
  • Fluent in Cantonese and strong command of English & Mandarin are required
  • Motivated and results oriented with an ability to work in a team (including coordinating various stakeholders) and deliver under pressure
  • Product Development or Actuarial qualification would be advantageous.
