Application Engineer

About the role

You are a Software Engineer with strong programming skills in Java and experience and a solid understanding of API engineering. You are familiar with running and deploying containers to Kubernetes, and you have knowledge of Relational and NoSQL Database Platforms and Application Telemetry and Monitoring. You are willing to creatively work through solutions evaluate the advantages and trade-offs of different approaches.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Crafting and writing containerized microservices with Java
  • Writing unit tests to verify code
  • Debugging skills and writing telemetry
  • Utilizing appropriate data stores (relational, non-relational)
  • Documenting design proposals and implementations (Visio, Markdown)
  • Understanding of Events and Event Driven Architecture (Event Streaming, Kafka)
  • Understanding of modern DevOps and CI/CD processes
  • Collaborate with local and global teams and stakeholders

 

About the team

Corporate Solutions technology enables the business to strengthen its sales dimension, enhance productivity, reduce the cost basis and be a key driver for achieving top and bottom-line growth targets. We create a world-class platform for Corporate Solutions to support the value chain end-to-end. This position is responsible for evaluating, designing, and delivering solutions within the CorSo technology landscape and project portfolio. In this position, the person is responsible for applying the latest technologies to design real world systems involving processing of large amounts of data and documents, business transactions, and user interactions on various platforms. The person should have exposure to all phases of solution development lifecycle from technical analysis, solution design, development, quality assurance to production induction and support.

  • Minimum of 5 years as a software engineer
  • Strong Java, Spring, API design and implementation skills
  • Constant learner who keeps on top of industry trends
  • Cloud experience, preferably with Kubernetes and Azure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with Agile Methodologies
  • Self-motivated and good interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in English
