About the role

Would you like to be part of a small team building and running your own business? Do you have extensive property & casualty insurance knowledge? Are you interested in a well-defined long-term career path? Do you like travel? If yes, this position may be for you.

You will work with two client management teams responsible for managing existing client relationships and establishing new client relationships within defined US territories. Target market is comprised of property & casualty businesses across the United States. Client managers are the core of cross-functional teams of reinsurance professionals working to produce and retain profitable treaty reinsurance business.


  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, business development and business services colleagues to maintain existing treaty reinsurance relationships and write new treaty reinsurance business.
  • Manage the transaction process for new and renewal business.
  • Find new opportunities for delivering Swiss Re products and services.
  • Establish, build and manage relationships with C-suite executives at businesses that buy reinsurance or influence reinsurance buying decisions.


This is an Assistant Vice President level position, and we have two openings. These positions can be based in Armonk, NY, Schaumburg, IL or Kansas City, MO. A significant amount of remote work is possible, but access to an office is required.   

About the team

This role serves the US Regional & National Direct client segment, with the goal of delivering Swiss Re's full suite of reinsurance solutions to our clients. Client Managers are the hubs that bring together all cross-functional team members as well as Swiss Re senior management. We are a group of nine sales professionals who love what we do.

About you

• Minimum of 5 years of property & casualty insurance/reinsurance experience.

• Self-starter with an understanding of client management.

• Excellent interpersonal and written communication and presentation skills.

• Thorough understanding of the US domestic property & casualty insurance market.

• Negotiation and analytical skills.

• Experience with client facing meetings involving senior executives.

• Some level of domestic travel required.
