About the Role

Do you enjoy data analysis and reporting?

Does a role providing ad-hoc strategic direction for our Statistical Reporting functions while leading a team of support staff entice you?

We are looking for a regulatory compliance subject matter expert on multiple lines of insurance responsible for ensuring that all statistical reporting to various states, bureaus, boards and associations are completed timely and accurately. Reporting of statistical data has a significant impact throughout the organization and is heavily involved in a variety of Corporate Solutions projects as a key stakeholder.

About the Team

  • Leadership of US based and overseas personnel via contracted vendor
  • Interpret complex regulatory requirements by utilizing immense knowledge of insurance data, company source systems to guide the creation of solutions by coordinating resources, facilitating brainstorming, and driving the implementation of meaningful solutions.
  • Lead all aspects of analysis and design of information, systems, and/or processes for: a) internal and external reporting; b) data capture and quality specifications; c) manual processing;
  • Represent the business community in the establishment of coding standards.
  • Responsible for Team Metrics and streamlining process opportunities. Prioritizes projects and allocates resources to react to changing environment. Works with management and staff to develop and achieve department and individual goals. Communicates progress towards goals.
  • Leads multiple intra- and inter-departmental projects. Acts as a lead or in a technical advisor capacity in the definition and prioritization of project results. Handles interdependencies and monitors the project progress communicating status to management and partners.
  • Develop and maintain personal contacts with states, boards, bureaus, and associations staff.
  • Responsible for training of new team members / business on regulatory Stat filing compliance.

About You

  • College / University degree or work experience equivalent.
  • Professional designations relating to statistical reporting or the insurance industry preferred (CPCU, IDMA)
  • Five or more years established experience in statistical reporting.
  • Ability to analyze information recognizing interdependencies, trends and anomalies, as well as understanding business implications. Strong interpersonal and project management skills with the ability to achieve results within and across diverse organizational units and disciplines (e.g. offshore, outsourced, or other internal regional teams).
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Broad insurance and corporate data source systems knowledge is needed.
  • Requires specialized technical understanding of the company’s financial and data reporting systems for all lines of business
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively interact with multiple levels of staff and regulatory authorities.
  • Ability to educate and drive statistical compliance within the organization.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a team setting.
  • Ability to negotiate skillfully and successfully.
  • PC Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and data reporting tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint.
  • Specific working knowledge of statistical and regulatory agencies including, but not limited to: ALIR, CAR, ISO, WC, NCCI, and the NAIC.
