About the Role

You will supervise and manage received cloud services, ensuring information quality, accuracy and in-time availability. Manage service deviations, issues’ resolution and availability management with all business partners involved. The role will allow you to improve and automate related processes. Join us and be the DevOps partner for our agile developers and squads coordinating and managing release deployments.


Your Main Activities:

1. Delivery of operations services:

  • Manage execution of data warehouse services, their availability and deviations to ensure users’ satisfaction
  • Collaborate with our cloud service partners, delivering required results, accurately and measurable
  • Preparation and execution of custom deployments following and supporting agile principals
  • Handle all upcoming issues with an understanding of dependencies and information content and customers' needs

 2. Endorsing continuous improvements:

  • On-boarding new cloud-provided services to offload work from data warehouse project team.
  • Define services vital to provide the service daily, stored in the service inventory
  • Strive for service automation where possible
  • Feedback issues to the agile development
  • Monitoring the system, collecting issues during business hours, reporting findings to Developers and feedback issues to the agile development
  • Educate the team about the changes and handover service operations
  • Communication of relevant information to partners
  • Supply testing activities from an engineering point of view
  • Participate in all other ITIL service management tasks like permanent service improvements, service level agreements, service reporting/communication etc. and drive topics as improvement projects


About the Team

We are a new team enabling everyone to deliver values and develop skills. You will work with an international, dynamic and diverse IT Team, providing operation services for our business partners. The aim is to achieve a high level of automation that allows us to do continuous integration and continuous delivery.  


The scope of the Product Area includes custom services for:

1. Group Data Warehouse – Custom made Swiss Re enterprise warehouse serving +3000 users every day namely for P&C, L&H, Finance and CORSO

2. IT Data Warehouse - Custom made Swiss Re warehouse for consumption information enabling Swiss RE to provide insight about IT costs and spending

3. MDM Warehouse - Master Data Management platform

4. Group Services – Custom made services and Apps for everyday usage within Swiss Re, having a range from everyday users up to high profiles.


About You

We expect from you:

  • Consistent track record of delivering results and impact, constantly looking for opportunities to innovate and get things done better and faster
  • Solid technical and/or functional knowledge in DevOps and servicing of data warehouses
  • University degree in IT or equivalent and at least 2 years d of practice in a comparable environment
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, well organized and efficient work mode, ability to set adequate priorities
  • Quality and solution orientation, persistence and a creative and curious mind
