Swiss Re's Regulatory Operations team is looking for a detailed individual to work in our Kansas City, Windsor, or Alpharetta office. This role supports the both rate, rule and form filings as well as the implementation of various CorSo NA products within our policy issuance systems. This function may include acting as lead for specific project(s) – this responsibility includes the coordination of special tasks and functional unit deliverables. Duties and responsibilities directly affect productivity, process efficiency, timeliness, profitability, regulatory compliance, and accuracy of the underwriting process.

 

About the role:

  • Manage the creation and submission of state rate, rule and forms filings commensurate with business objectives and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. 
  • Provide direction and support to the business units throughout the development and preparation of filing materials.  In conjunction with business units, determine the overall filing strategy.  Assist, as needed, with the creation of forms and rules.  Coordinate interaction with business unit underwriters, legal and other areas to assure appropriate individuals are involved and kept updated during the course of a filing.
  • Manage and coordinate the communication and negotiation of filings with insurance departments in a manner that will result in timely approval of company products. 
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to assist business unit personnel when responding to regulatory compliance issues.
  • Notify Implementation team of changes to forms impacting policy issuance systems as a result of the changes to and/or introduction of new products.
  • Respond to internal customer inquiries concerning items such as notice requirements, cancellation/non-renewal requirements, filing laws and other product compliance issues.
  • Ensure Swiss Re's internal tracking system is updated and accurate with current regulatory compliant product filing information.
  • Complete assigned or insurance department requested state regulatory reports.
  • Review and analyze state insurance department statues, regulations, bulletins, etc. to determine impact and ensure adherence to filing and regulatory requirements.  Stay current on changes and developments that impact insurance design and development. 
  • Perform other related duties, including short- or long-term projects, as assigned by senior staff.
  • Review and Sign-Off on Weekly/Monthly Production move regression testing.
  • Coordinate the implementation of approved forms for all internal Policy Processing Systems.
  • Initiate timely implementation changes of forms for various CorSo NA policy issuance systems by providing detailed instructions regarding programming and use requirements to ensure CorSo policy issuance compliance.
  • Assist in defining/writing requirements for forms implementations for new policy issuing systems.
  • Test new policy issuance systems for forms compliance.

 

About you:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience;
  • 2-5 years' experience in insurance rate and form filing, policy issuance system implementation or other insurance regulatory related work;
  • Familiarity with Bureau Circulars (i.e. ISO, AAIS, etc.);
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to negotiate skillfully and successfully;
  • Demonstrated independent problem solving and regulatory interpretation skills impacting company product compliance;
  • Solid research, project management, organizational and analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively interact with multiple levels of staff and state regulatory authorities;
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a team setting;
  • Ability to work in globally located team situations;
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively in a matrix environment;
  • Ability to work independently and in conjunction with others; and
  • PC Skills:  Word, Excel, SERFF, iFile, NILS, ISOnet, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint.
