About the Role:

 

The Underwriting Assistant position is a fantastic opportunity to provide technical assistance to the P&C Transactions & Flow team, supporting both direct and broker markets. In it, you will be utilizing various software applications, records management solutions, workstream processes, as well as coordinating with client markets and other functional roles within the company.

Key responsibilities:

  • Must develop and maintain full understanding of P&C Solution(s), including all features of the solution(s) and how they can be used efficiently by the client.
  • Responsible for initial triage of any client queries to determine method of resolution
  • Responsible for direct resolution of client queries and issues including collaborative resolution with the x-functional partners (i.e., IT, solution owner, client markets, etc..) where required 
  • Responsible to work closely with x-functional team within region and global peers (i.e., business ops leads, solution owners etc.) in the management and resolution of client queries leveraging time-zones and individual knowledge of specific solutions
  • External communication with client (emails, phone calls, video presence and in person)
  • Conducts business analysis based on data available in the Reinsurance Cockpit and/or relevant KPIs to understand the client experience. The purpose of the analysis to improve the overall efficiency of the process and/or client experience (Ease of Doing business) and provide feedback through the x-functional team
  • Regularly provides reporting and analysis of KPIs and helps to constantly improve the Operational Framework and Work Capacity Model
  • Identifies, recommends, and tracks efficiency opportunities based on the data analyzed
  • Provides regular updates to the regional solutions team in respect of the performance, client experience, workload distribution, and KPI performance 
  • Responsible for ad hoc needs across the Solutions end to end value chain
  • Training internal staff and external clients
  • Perform other position related tasks as instructed by Supervisor: risk clearing, binding transactions, bordereaux management, issuing certificates and endorsements, ensuring strong data quality.
  • You will also be providing analytical support by entering key account information into system tools and gathering additional data on account specifics to help your underwriting team with the decision-making process

 

 

About the Team:

You will be responsible for providing administrative, technical & analytical assistance to a great team of underwriters. Your performance and contributions will have a direct impact on the productivity, efficiency, and profitability of the underwriting unit.

 

About You:

  • Minimum of two-year associate degree; or equivalent experience
  • (Re)insurance knowledge desired
  • Property knowledge desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Very strong attention to details
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - Reliable and self-reliant task manager
  • Strong customer focus and service orientation
  • Ability to cope with changes in tasks and priorities
  • Ability and willingness to transfer knowledge and experience to colleagues
  • Ability to complete work independently or in cooperation with others on well-defined tasks in a project and will define some tasks independently.
  • Demonstrates willingness to seek new knowledge and tasks, questions current processes, and able to suggest improvements
