About The Role
The Statistical Compliance Analyst will work both collaboratively with other departments within the organization as well as on an individual basis to provide quality and accurate data in timely manner in response to a variety of internal and external data requests for detail and aggregate data across multiple lines of business.  Must have solid experience as a statistical analyst in bureau reporting and have the ability to interpret external reporting requirements and collaborate with team members to develop a satisfactory solution to a regulatory initiative.  Detailed hands-on experience working with all of the NCCI Statistical Plans is essential.  Detailed analysis to define reporting requirements, identify root cause of data quality issues and strength in collaborating across teams to define & implement solutions.  May require some supervision from team leader but should be able to work independently.

About the Team

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate submissions of Data Calls and statistical data to state Insurance Departments, Statistical Bureaus, and other statutory and regulatory bodies.
  • Apply analytical skills to evaluate the requirements of a directive received from an external regulator or an internal customer to determine data needs within company processing and reporting systems.
  • Assess impact to existing processes due to new product offerings, systems migrations, data quality issue or changes to regulatory reporting requirements, collaborate with business partners and ensure appropriate solutions are tested and implemented, while working independently.
  • Proactively review and evaluate internal processes for effectiveness and efficiency identify alternative approaches and implement solutions to enhance the consistency, quality and timeliness of reporting.
  • Understand the usage and relevance of company data sources within the policy and claims admin systems in relation to regulatory reporting and ensure accuracy of statistical data for all relevant data sources and lines of business.
  • Ensure procedures and workflows are well documented and kept current, author / alter procedure documents as needed to address new requirements, product changes and statistical changes.

About You

  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years previous work experience with a commercial Property and Casualty insurance carrier.
  • Minimum 2+ years Statistical/Regulatory Reporting experience or equivalent experience required.
  • CPCU coursework or IDMA certification a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Experience working with NCCI Statistical Circulars.
  • Knowledge of NCCI Statistical Plans and Statistical Edit Package.
  • Demonstrated independent problem solving and regulatory interpretation skills impacting statistical compliance.
  • Solid research, project management, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with others as a team player as well as independently on individual tasks and projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to achieve results within and across diverse organizational units and disciplines (e.g. offshore, outsourced, or other internal regional teams).
