About the role 

The Portfolio Management Intern will work closely with Portfolio Management Analysts & Experts to provide data, audit, and reconciliation support for Portfolio Management, Account Management, Novation and Commutation efforts. Support commutation efforts and execution of portfolio management projects as assigned. Coordinates with Claims, Operations, Reserving, Client and Cash Management Teams to ensure account management and commutation transactions are processed timely, accurately, and in accordance with Inforce Portfolio Management and Swiss Re guidelines. Assist with data analytics related to Portfolio Management responsibilities on assigned sub portfolios and support portfolio management UW Portfolio projects as needed.


About the team

• Identify and support commutations and account management activities
• Facilitate cross-functional coordination as required with other Inforce functions, Claims, Operations,   Actuarial, Legal, Finance, Client Markets and U/W
• Actively participate in cross functional teams to support portfolio management
• Assist with special projects, as assigned
• Support Senior Portfolio Management Experts in pulling reports, reconciling, and analyzing data to support UW Portfolio strategies and monitor development
• Manage relationships with clients through frequent verbal and written interactions

• Participate in claim and transactional audits as assigned; assist in identifying audit opportunities
• Contribute to simplification activities
• Review and basic analysis of contract documentation (Wordings, underwriting files, accounting files)
• Support and engage in the use of new technology solutions to better monitor and steer in-force business, such as applying Smart Analytics and Predictive Modelling


About you (requirements)

Prior knowledge in insurance/reinsurance industry desirable
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work cross-functionally within the business
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and deliver quality results within time constraints. Able to manage details without losing sight of the big picture
Strong financial acumen, Detail oriented
Ability to learn rapidly and adapt quickly
Strong knowledge of MS Office tools and Outlook, advanced knowledge of Excel and/or PowerBI (some programming skills preferred)
