About the Programme


We are looking for graduates with strong interpersonal skills, who are eager to learn and broaden their knowledge and expertise. You have a Bachelor, Master or PhD degree with up to 3 years professional experience – we invite you to apply to our graduates@swissre programme 2023!

The programme offers you the chance to join the dynamic, fast paced world of a leading risk knowledge organisation. Over an 18-month period, you’ll receive on- and off-the-job training, including a job rotation that gives you the opportunity to work across various business units.


About the role


Key Responsibilities and tasks:


  • You will be given the support to play an integral part within the Business Solutions which is a key area within Swiss Re's Group Technology Services (GTS).
  • You will be assigned a dedicated Line Manager, giving you the confidence to make the most of every opportunity to start your journey in the industry.
  • Some of the areas you will be exposed to include: Software Development using an Agile methodology, Software Development, Web Design, Analysis and Testing, Database Administration


This position offers you the chance to work with various Centre of Excellence's (COE's) and Product Areas to expand your knowledge of current and new technologies as well as developing your Reinsurance industry knowledge.

About the team


GTS Business Solutions provide strategic direction, implement and maintain common utilities, components, business applications, services and platforms to be leveraged by the business. We improve synergies across Swiss Re to achieve technological excellence and avoid unnecessary, complexity and costs, leading to greater speed to our key markets.


You will be made to feel a part of a diverse community of a team of like-minded individuals from varying countries (Switzerland, UK, India, Slovakia and Germany), ethnicities, backgrounds and interests.

You will learn about delivering and supporting solutions and services used across the business (Application Development Services (ADS),Microsoft Office Development Consultancy, (Business) Reporting Platforms and many others).


About You

  • Successfully completed university degree, preferably in IT/Computer Science or Business Studies or related Work Experience
  • Curiosity about the insurance/reinsurance sector
  • IT or Analytical skills are desired
  • Approaches problems with curiosity and flexibility, is a fast learner
  • Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
  • Proficient oral and written English skills; additional language skills advantageous, in particular German or Spanish
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
