About the Role

 

We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our Casualty Treaty Underwriting team in London.

 

Our team is mainly responsible for underwriting renewal and new business, predominantly in the UK/Ireland and in the International business segment, with Motor being the principle focus, but Liability and other Casualty lines of business being part of the remit too.

 

You will also dedicate significant time to building new Solutions for our client base.

 

Interacting with brokers and clients is an important area of the role.

About the Team

 

We are a team of 8 Casualty Treaty Underwriters looking after London Market business, which comprises Domestic UK and Ireland and some of International Business written out of London and Bermuda. We consider ourselves a very dynamic team with loads of energy. While we work closely together with one another and our colleagues from other functions, the team embraces the flexibility that Swiss Re provides when it comes to the way we work.

 

About You

  • Ideally, you have both UK Motor Insurance Pricing experience, in commercial and/or personal lines as well as Reinsurance Pricing / Underwriting experience.
  • Are you curious to drive innovation for Swiss Re's clients in collaboration with our Solutions and Analytics team?
  • You will have sound actuarial and/or analytic skills demonstrated through an understanding of underwriting concepts and contract wording, hence legal knowledge is advantageous.
  • You have the ability to build valuable relationships with external partners. You show outstanding problem-solving aptitude and creative approach.
  • With strong interpersonal skills, you are a change agent who inspires others, coaches effectively and promotes team work. Self-aware, you have established trust through open, transparent communication and empowered others through effective knowledge sharing.
  • University degree or equivalent preferred.
