About the Role


The Swiss Re Europe S.A. ("SRE") Carrier Team in Luxembourg is responsible for legal entity reporting and analysis according to Luxembourg GAAP, USGAAP and Solvency II valuation principles. In future also IFRS. In addition, the UK branch is required to produce UK GAAP reporting. As Head of UK Regulatory reporting, you lead all aspects of the overall UK branch reporting to tax and the UK Branch Manager and Solvency II reporting to the UK Regulator.


You have ownership and responsibility for the preparation for the quarterly Solvency II quantitative and annual narrative reporting to the UK insurance regulator, along with internal reporting, financial analysis and branch specific insights to Senior Management and the branch management committee (BMC).


You will also strongly contribute to the overall financial management and financial steering activities and initiatives for the UK branch, in close collaboration with the legal entity capital and balance sheet management team. You will also support in any UK branch related matters, from the PRA, UK branch manager or other key stakeholder.

Main tasks/activities (in brief, statements describe the main accountabilities of the job)
1.    Preparation of the quarterly and annual finance packs for the BMC, quarterly and annual regulatory returns in accordance with the generally accepted accounting policies and relevant regulation in UK for our UK branch.
2.    Drive the implementation of the new reporting structure and requirements as the UK exits the EU and formerly becomes supervised by the UK regulator
3.    Contribute strongly to the overall financial management of the UK branch, in close collaboration with the legal entity capital & balance sheet management team
4.    Represents finance for SRE UK on the BMC and for purposes of the PRA Senior Manager Regime
5.    Steer improvements to both systems and processes to meet regulatory requirements involving Finance division and the associated IT department
6.    Provides input and support to Finance relevant projects including a move to IFRS
7.    Ensures compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements as well as with requirements from other external parties such as regulatory or other governmental institutions


About You


Job requirements (education, professional experience, leadership qualities, soft skills)
1.    University degree in Accounting, Economics, Science or Business Administration
2.    At least 5 years of work experience in insurance / reinsurance related finance accounting functions
3.    Experience with solvency models, solvency II knowledge a strong advantage
4.    Strong track record in reporting, preferably to external agencies
5.    Excellent analytical skills and comprehensive thinking
6.    Experience in UK GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS desirable
7.    Strong team player that is effective in a fast changing and agile environment
8.    Your communication (both oral and written) is clear and simple – even when dealing with complicated problems and ideas
9.    Ability to drive multiple projects at once, actively balancing different priorities on an ongoing basis
