About the Role:

Are you a Property Claims professional with 10+ years of Commercial Property Claims experience?

 

We are looking for a Claims Expert who will be responsible for handling General Property and E&S Property claims while also supporting internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years Property claim handling experience and possess solid coverage, damage investigation, evaluation, negotiation, claims resolution and customer service skills.

We are looking for a proactive claim professional, a strategic thinker and confident decision maker who is organized and can work well both independently and as part of a team. Experience handling shared and layered accounts as well as international business is preferred. We want someone who also has an interest in career development; has good leadership skills, or a desire to further develop such skills.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Manage a caseload of commercial property claims from receipt to final resolution.
  • Direct independent adjusters, appraisers, experts and coverage/defense counsel.
  • Maintain strong client focus by aggressively and proactively researching issues, providing support and assuring client satisfaction in a timely fashion.
  • Support Underwriting team needs for claim information and consultation on coverages.
  • Investigate, evaluate and settle claims, applying technical knowledge and people skills to effect fair and prompt claim resolution.
  • Complete detailed reviews of claim related issues, including coverage, liability and damage and document the claim file appropriately.
  • Set and maintain appropriate and timely indemnity and expense reserves.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time to attend loss site inspections, client/broker meetings, claim settlement meetings, underwriting meetings, etc.
  • Formulate and execute negotiation and resolution strategies. You will also be comfortable interacting directly with Insureds, Brokers, Public Adjusters or Attorneys.
  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.

 

About the Team:

Our team is comprised of 4 separate units with staff geographically situated across the United States and Canada. The team handles commercial claims for General Property, E&S Property, Energy & Engineered Risks, and Specialty lines of business both domestically and internationally with a strong emphasis on quality and customer service.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 10+ years Commercial Property Claims handling experience.  International Business claim handling experience is a plus. 
  • Excellent customer service skills with experience building and maintaining relationships with underwriters, clients, brokers and other internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to successfully deliver the Corporate Solutions Claims Commitment.
  • Superior interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills.
  • Hardworking sales mindset, applying consultative selling skills to develop insights, propose solutions and build growth opportunities for clients and Corporate Solutions.
  • Experience with handling claims in a paperless environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, focused and self-motivated.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Interest in developing leadership and management skills.
  • Possess or willing to obtain adjuster licenses as needed for various jurisdictions.
