Finance Manager Sustainability Analytics & Reporting

About the role


Swiss Re International SE (SRI), one of the subsidiaries of the Swiss Re Group, operates in the EU and in APAC, with the EU having the most advanced & ambitious regulatory landscape with urgent need for attention. There are increasing requirements starting from 2022 for EU Taxonomy and for CSRD in 2025 for financial year 2024. SRI including its branches is in scope of EU regulation, hence the EU taxonomy.

 

In this respect, we are looking for a qualified and experienced professional to join our reporting and carrier team focusing on sustainability analytics and reporting.

 

The Luxembourg Reporting Team is responsible for legal entity reporting according to Luxembourg GAAP, IFRS and Solvency II valuation principles. 

In this role, you will be responsible for Sustainability Annual Reporting which meets all local sustainability disclosure requirements, as well as for other internal and external carrier specific ad-hoc sustainability reporting and presentations as appropriate.


What are the key responsibilities?

•    Ensure a continuous and stringent ongoing monitoring as well as interpretation of sustainability laws and regulatory developments in the EU.
•    Act as key contact person for the Sustainability Program and assume central coordination role for all local Luxembourg finance SRI topics related to Sustainability Reporting. Coordinate with Swiss Re Europe S.A. finance team and identify ways for collaboration and knowledge exchange across European legal entities.
•    Liaise and collaborate with Group Sustainability and Group Sustainability Reporting teams on methodology as well as other topics; liaise and collaborate with other stakeholders as required (e.g. Underwriting/SRI, Info Tech, Risk Management, Asset Management, Finance)
•    Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements and control standards. 
•    Deal and be the main point of contact for auditors on the audit requirements. 
•    Interact internally and externally with subject matter experts to understand new and emerging requirements as published by the European Union and other regulators.
•    Report to the CFO/CRO and the Program Lead for Sustainability Reporting on an on-going basis by providing updates on developments and work done and highlight any potential roadblocks.
•    Drive the process relating to the publication of the EU Taxonomy report for the entity ensuring high quality standards and appropriate internal reviews are in place prior to official publication.


About you:
 

•    University degree in Accounting or related fields
•    7+ years of work experience in insurance / reinsurance related finance accounting functions
•    Excellent knowledge of Swiss Re financial systems landscape
•    Insurance operational and accounting knowledge beneficial
•    Strong track record in reporting
•    Excellent analytical skills and holistic approach
•    Engaging and motivating
•    Excellent command of the English language. 
•    Strong focus on delivering high quality output within tight timeframes
•    Strong team worker with collaboration and relationship management skills and effective working relationships with teams and departments not directly in your control
•    Ability to engage and motivate cross functional and multiple location teams to deliver
•    Ability to challenge, develop / enhance existing processes and improve continually
•    Ability to communicate concisely and accurately especially externally
