Operations Surety Specialist EMEA (Hybrid - 80%-100% - m/f/x/d)

About the Role


Be ready to take a responsibility for domestic and international client servicing, especially timely and accurate request and inquiry handling, issuance of bonds and guarantees.


Your other key responsibilities involve:


  • High level of interaction and coordination with team members, underwriters locally and in other markets as well as external clients, brokers and other external partners such as banks and insurers

  • Capture bonds and guarantees in systems and tools, including checking and issuing such documents and processing any amendments. If applicable, prepare documents for issuance and seek for customers approval

  • Analyze and work with detailed source documents such as issuance requests, facility agreements, guarantee wordings

  • Manages internal stakeholders by adhering to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and manages customer requirements.

  • Contribute to processes for the mitigation of Operational and Regulatory risks

  • Analyze and identify any premium and fee discrepancies decide on appropriate next

  • Compile, sort, review and verify data accuracy using source documents, detect errors, and initiate correction while following-up with customer or process owner regarding any inconsistencies found

About You


You are natural collaborator with strong interpersonal skills and client oriented mentality. You are also able to work independently, prioritize tasks and enjoys to work in multi-cultural fast-paced environment. Moreover if guarantees and bonds issuance are not completely strange to you, this might be your next challenge!




  • Degree in banking, finance or related field

  • Associate degree or job experience equivalent

  • Experience with bonds, guarantees analysis and issuance

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of trade finance and guarantee business

  • Familiarity with AML procedures and sanctions, commercial and company law

  • Proficient in the German and English language, reading, written and verbal

  • Demonstrates proficiency in administrative and clerical procedures including handling files and records, and processes for providing excellent customer service

  • Demonstrates good digital literacy and experience with Microsoft Office. SWIFT messages for documentary business is a plus


Nice to Have


  • Knowledge of additional languages of relevant markets (especially Portuguese, French)


Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, seminars, and programs to learn about new processes and guidelines, learn new skills, and stay updated with the team supported.
