About the Role:

In support of the Latin America region deliver timely and accurate business-processing, administrative, technical and marketing support to underwriting process for Property/Engineering/Casualty/Credit and Surety underwriters.

Duties and responsibilities directly impact productivity, process efficiency, timeliness, profitability and accuracy of the underwriting process and may require occasional travel.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

Lead, inspire and engage:

Manage day-to-day operations of Business Services:

  • Perform yearly annual and bi-annual performance reviews
  • Attend team leader's meetings and disseminate information as required to team
  • Support strategies and projects within the region and ensure Business Services operational success in core workload.
  • Assist in determining staffing requirements including interviewing, hiring and training for new hires

 

Support team to ensure proper support for Internal and External Clients:

  • High interaction and coordination with underwriting, near-shore/off-shore, other functional areas including, but not limited to Products, Finance, Claims and Policy Processing.
  • Applying knowledge of statistics, finance and business to assess risks as outlined in underwriting program submission and costing.
  • Assembling, quantifying and analyzing data to assist with and coordinating the pricing process.
  • Performing technical and renewal analysis.
  • Conducting preliminary deal analysis and preparing applicable account data for review by underwriter by producing charts, tables and reports that explain calculations and proposals.
  • Performing statistical analysis of portfolio and respective markets per line of business.
  • Review contract wordings and supporting contract maintenance.
  • Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, seminars, and programs to learn about new processes and guidelines, learn new skills, and start updated with the underwriting team supported.

 

About You:

  • 5 years' experience in Reinsurance Issuance.
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Result oriented working style, with strong focus on performance, targets and risk management.
  • Pro-active business oriented approach; understand customer issues and concerns.
  • Actively seek to address them in developing solutions.
  • Strong business insight and result orientation.
  • Ability to substantially contribute to and work with multi cultural and cross functional teams in a virtual set-up.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated mindset; eager to seek challenges
  • Able to think innovatively and willing to take risk
  • Ability to adapt to changes and implement them accordingly
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills (ie. Lotus Notes/Word/Excel/Power Point)
  • Some business travel as required, approx. 10-20%
  • Languages: fluent in English and Spanish
