We are looking for a proactive, solution-oriented Claims person for our Mexico office. We would like considerable Casualty claims handling interest, to manage a diverse portfolio of regional and international claims within the Latin American Market. The successful candidate will be expected to effectively share technical knowledge, manage expectations, and openly communicate with internal and external clients. We would like someone comfortable dealing with the personalities and dynamics involved in the Claims management process.

 

About the role

Interest to develop about:

  • Deliver the highest quality Claim handling and customer service consistent with the Corporate Solutions Claim Commitment and claim handling expectations
  • Within the claims team, based in Mexico, the effective management  and adjustment of claims from first advice to settlement of portfolio of LatAm and Mexican Claims
  • Handle claims of varying loss severity
  • Proactive claim investigation, coverage and damage  / Loss evaluation
  • Develop and implement appropriate strategy for fair claim resolution , to include settlement negotiation, where needed
  • Work closely with Cedents. Insureds, Claimants and Brokers
  • Set and maintain appropriate and timely indemnity and expenses reserves consistent with CorSo Claims' reserve timeliness expectations
  • Proactive diary management
  • Select, direct and manage external experts and vendors, including working with experts to set appropriate budgets and effectively manage costs
  • Select and manage outside attorneys, where needed, including working with attorneys to set appropriate resolution strategy and budget and effectively manage costs
  • Regularly provide actionable Claim's insights to internal stakeholders
  • Assist Underwriting and others with contractual wording and risk assessments
  • Keep Claim Management and Internal Stakeholders aware of loss potential and material claim developments, consistent with Claim Handling Expectations and SoPs.
  • Provide accurate information and data for Claims' reporting
  • Understand and identify claim fraud indicators and work with CorSo Claims SIU unit, as needed to report and combat potential fraudulent claims
  • Identify, properly evaluate and handle subrogation and claim recovery, where applicable
  • Comply with Internal Governance, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Regular Claims and Insurance Industry training / education including obtaining and maintaining applicable insurance certifications  / designations and adjuster licenses
  • Participate in regional and global projects, as requested
  • Collaborate with the Claims Operations Team to ensure proper claims administration and data quality throughout portfolios
  • Demonstrate Swiss Re claim's expertise and service excellence at industry and market events
  • Review and support development of wordings, and tailored solutions for clients in cooperation with contract services
  • Contribute to other offices in the region

 

About You

  • University degree , preferable in  Law
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and people skills
  • A desire to learn and develop as a person and an insurance professional
  • Curious, energetic, proactive, analytical, problem – solver, dependable, honest and transparent
  • Proven organizational and time management skills, disciplined, agile, self – motivated and good judgment
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Good presentation skills
  • Licensed or able to be licensed as a claim adjuster, where required
  • Solid computer skills including proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) MS Outlook and the use of internet for research and investigation
  • Manage litigations and co-ordinate with outside Counsel for surety matters as required;
  • Fluency in English and Spanish

  • Flexibility and ability to work under time pressure with multiple priorities
