About the role

In this role, you will develop, and market profitable existing and new business opportunities to clients across the Life & Health (L&H) business segments, with the goal of generating long-term sustainable growth and profit. Your focus will be Mexican market


Main responsibilities are:

  • Take a holistic view for the company´s clients by ensuring that the adequate service proposition is provided, including the entire business partnership.
  • Raise SR´s profile in the market.
  • Develop and maintain personal contacts and motivate the ongoing development of relationships at all levels with clients.
  • Actively initiate a dialog with clients and brokers on how Swiss Re may be able to assist in developing and implementing reinsurance solutions appropriate to their needs.
  • Contribute to and challenge the development of objectives for clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other internal partners.


About the Team

You will work in a team including of Market Underwriters and Client Managers located in Mexico City. You will also work closely with the cross functional teams, comprising multiple functions, in Mexico City as well as other Swiss Re locations (in Miami, Sao Paulo, Bogota, Armonk and Zurich). Further, your work will collaborate with other central functions, including Risk Management, Operations, Legal and Finance.


About You

  • University degree in actuarial sciences, engineering, mathematics, business or economics (with strong analytical and mathematical skills).
  • Proficient command of Spanish, as well as a high level of proficiency of English.
  • Strong computer and software usage skills.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in the Life & Health insurance / reinsurance of financial sector.
  • Underwriting background a plus.
  • Preference to treaty background but will consider facultative experience.
  • Good understanding of financials of insurance companies
  • Frequent travel required.
  • Financial knowledge and ability to analyze a balance sheet constitute a plus.
  • Able to applies market / client intelligence to plan a structured approach to grow a selected market or client. Uses market / client information to craft an overall value proposition that highlights the company strengths and counter competitive threats.
  • Able to develop and follow up a sales activity plan in response to market / client strategy and financial targets.
  • Applies knowledge of corporate finance, basic tax principles and regulatory requirements to offer insights to clients and develop appropriate solutions to address their needs
