This professional will be responsible for day-to-day operations, staff, budgeting, regulatory compliance, projects and cross-functional interactions.

About the Role:

  • Lead and oversight of the operating model (including IT platforms), for both Mexico and Miami operations
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance with local laws and regulations, particularly for the Mexican entity in regards to proper and timely data reporting
  • Represent the local Mexican legal entity before the local regulatory authority
  • Implementation and oversight of the Operations business plan, e.g. systems, process, resourcing, capabilities, etc.
  • Support the implementation and the respective maintenance of a sustainable Risk & Control framework, promoting awareness to all local employees with support of Group functions
  • Develop teams of Business Services and Technical Accounting of both Mexico and Miami offices, providing strong leadership to the team, including training, mentoring and at times of high work load be a Working Lead
  • Supervision service delivery by off-shored services, supporting that daily working level issues are being resolved timely
  • Build relationships across all functions to ensure Country Head and Regional Operations Head are fully informed of all significant operational subjects
  • Also, in conjunction with Country Head and Regional Operations Head, deliver and coordinate Office & Facility management, e.g. departmental planning, steering and monitoring budget & expense reporting, knowledge and record management, support to Business Continuity Management (BCM) plans, etc.
  • Analyze and monitor the operational activities through operational metrics and controls
  • Assume responsibility and actively manage projects

About you

  • Primary commercial insurance expertise is a must
  • Strong knowledge and experience running an insurance/reinsurance operation (e.g.

Underwriting, Claims, IT, Technical Accounting and Operations)

  • Experience implementing Solvency II requirements
  • Experience coordinating internal/external Operations & IT audits
  • Strong people manager and ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
  • Strong team player with ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and credibility
  • Ability to work in a target driven environment, under tight deadlines
  • Ability to attract, select, develop and retain talent
  • Ability and confidence to interact at senior management level and deal with multiple stakeholders
  • Hands-on approach, solutions and results oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, in particular conveying messages to teams and stakeholders and managing conflicts
  • Client focused and service oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing and leadership skills
  • Fluent Spanish and English languages (read, written and verbal)
