Technical Accountant (associate) are those with intermediate/advanced accounting experience and fully independent in their daily work. They handle business performance and enthusiastically identify trends in their portfolios, making adjustments as needed. Demonstrated understanding of standard operating procedures, guidelines and key controls.

About the role


  • You will perform and/or watch work by peers for clients accounts and processes assigned, driving performance in reinsurance portfolio. Authorize and/or escalate financial transactions or payments as per authority matrix.
  • You will handle positive relationships with internal/external clients.
  • Perform TA operational duties as needed/required while demonstrating advanced understanding of our processes and procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of the technical accounting data in the systems while being able to handle and/or lead set of clients/portfolios.
  • You will be able to understand downstream implications to Finance, Actuarial, Underwriting and Client Markets.
  • You can look for opportunities within core process to bring value (qualitative or quantitative) for Swiss Re and external clients.
  • You will perform TA operational duties (accounting/booking transactions and/or billing, collection, cash allocation) with focus on data quality and driving value through active application of client segmentation
  • Coordinate and prepare monthly/quarterly performance critical metrics, reviews/analysis and/or internal client financial and operational reviews/analysis.
  • You will conduct business correspondence in English with internal and external clients via email, phone calls, and visits to clients if required.
  • You will participate in special tasks (i.e. Power User network, Peer Reviews, UAT’s, Mini-Projects, etc.).
  • Constantly look to enhance the service standards and quality
  • Proactive investigation, analysis and interpretation of processed accounting information
  • Regular reporting to supervisor and internal stakeholders
  • You will Ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance with internal/external/regulatory requirements and/or commitments


About You


  • University degree preferably in the area of finance, accounting, economics or administration or business related field or equivalent experience.
  • Language skills: Fluent or Advanced in comprehension and use of English (written, spoken, listening).
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office - Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Good at numbers, strong analytical skills (Flair for Figures)
  • Sound Financial Accounting and accounting principles accounting know-how
  • Effective social and communication (verbal and written) business communication skills
  • Proactive exercise of critical thinking analysis and problem solving.
  • Ability to work as a standout colleague while demonstrating leadership traits

  • Demonstrated agility and ability to navigate ambiguity to deliver on core expectations through change
