About the Job

This is a challenging chance to join a team responsible for identifying business opportunities through idea generation, analysis, and client presentations around the reinsurance value proposition for Swiss Re's Reinsurance Business Unit clients based in Latin America - to not only originate reinsurance solutions that meet client's strategic objectives, but also deepen Swiss Re's understanding of clients to strengthen relationships and dialogues.

This requires converting broad knowledge of (re)insurance, enterprise valuation, corporate finance and strategy, emerging industry trends, regulatory frameworks, rating agencies, and capital markets, into commercially viable business opportunities and effective strategic dialogue on reinsurance value creation.

Be part of a team working side by side with client management, to develop and originate reinsurance business opportunities:

  • Analyze clients' financial valuation, investor expectations, capital flexibility, and other financial and strategic measures and engage with them on how reinsurance can enhance those metrics
  • Contribute to select Client Engagement Plans with a focus on value creation opportunities
  • Interface regularly with Products colleagues to understand solutions and maintain an understanding of Swiss Re's risk appetite
  • Contribute within the global Business Development community, sharing ideas, leveraging our global presence to identify business opportunities to address client needs

About you

  • Good understanding of the Latin American (re)insurance markets, trends, and products
  • In depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, solvency and ratings capital models, and life and health insurance company valuation drivers
  • Strong communicator, particularly with an aptitude for sales
  • Out-of-the-box problem solver; comfortable working across multifaceted clients, solution types, and products
  • Ability to prioritize and apply sound commercial judgment and to navigate ambiguity, self-motivate, and work with agility
  • Able to conduct business in English and Spanish
