About the Role

After an appropriate period of onboarding and training, the expectation is that you quickly assume responsibilities within the team, being able to:

  • Analyze new business opportunities by assessing credit and transactional risks, terms and conditions and profitability/return, following Swiss Re's processes, approved business concepts and risk appetite
  • Prepare high quality transaction submissions
  • Present transactions and defend towards committees and decision makers in the credit approval process with confidence
  • Support negotiations with clients
  • Review and negotiate documentation of transactions in cooperation with legal department and senior colleagues
  • Handle post underwriting tasks such as transaction monitoring, amendments, restructurings and claims coordination
  • Manage monitoring, portfolio and cycle steering initiatives
  • Handle client issues and lead internal processes to ensure short response times and positive client feedback
  • Gradually take on client management responsibilities guided by senior market underwriters and regional business originators
  • Keep abreast with relevant market, economic, political and legal developments

 

About the Team 

Energy & Metal Commodity Finance provides credit risk sharing solutions to leading international banks active in financing commodity production and trade across the world. We are a team of expert professionals located in London, Munich, New York, Singapore and Zurich with an established international client base and the reputation for a sound risk taking approach linked with strong client service.

 

About You

  • You have 2-4 years credit/banking experience in structured trade and commodity finance or mining/oil & gas project finance. Ideally you have a background in credit analysis or structuring plus cash flow modelling and loan documentation experience.
  • You like analysing complex credit risks predominantly in emerging markets.
  • Working in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment energizes you.

  • You should be a curious and creative mind seeking to provide better solutions to our demanding clients with persistence and thoroughness
  • Your excellent communication and facilitation skills allow you to work with ease with colleagues and clients globally
  • Language Skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required - Other languages a plus
  • Other requirements/information - Business travel (ca. 10-15% of time), including extended flight time
