Working Student ("Werkstudent") Life & Health, Medical Research (m/f/x)

About the Role 

 

The role supports our Global Life & Health Underwriting (UW) & Claims team in their medical research activities on cancer. The scope includes cancer risks, incidence and outcomes with a strong focus on data mapping, consolidation and analytics. 
 
Your main tasks will include the following:

  • Applying your quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to the latest data and research trends around cancer
  • Extensive R&D activities including mapping, integrating and analysing external data sources on cancer epidemiology 
  • Support in communicating results to a wide range of audiences, both internally and externally.
  • Drafting of publications and presentations, alongside producing graphics/graphs/visualisations.  


Working Hours: flexible, max. 20 hours per week
Location: Munich (partial working from home possible)  

 

About You

 

You are 

  • very structured and self-organised with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and the ability for strategic thinking.
  • a highly motivated and curious person who would help us as to keep exploring, understanding and analysing the latest cancer data on risk factors, incidence, outcomes, and more. 
  • eager to learn and understand more about the medical, healthcare, societal and lifestyle factors that drive cancer related epidemiological trends.
  • familiar with life/medical sciences, biomedical research, epidemiology or medical statistics.
  • very familiar with the MS Office software and have an interest in dealing with internal IT applications.
  • in the final stages of your bachelor studies or already started your master studies. Alternatively, you are attending medical school or are in the process of completing your PhD.


You will be expected to work independently but will of course have support and mentorship from the project coach and project sponsor and learn from others in the team as well. The position requires strong language and excellent service skills. Candidates must speak fluent German and English. 


About the Team

 

Our global Life & Health UW & claims team consists not only of researchers, medical doctors, underwriters and claims experts, but also technologists, learning specialists and behavioural scientists. It closely collaborates with other multidisciplinary research teams including actuaries and data scientists. The team pools their extensive knowledge and experience to help our clients stay at the forefront of L&H underwriting and claims.
