About the Role:


The ILS Distribution Specialist maintains and develops strong relationships with institutional investors, prospective investors, and more broadly with the ILS capital markets. The person will keep up with the market and take the lead in customer secondary trading activities.  The person will be able to manage the new issue process for ILS and take the syndicate lead for various new issues lead by Swiss Re Capital Markets.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Marketing and distribution of insurance-linked securities and other instruments (private deals and sidecars) to institutional investors
  • Establishing strong relationships with existing investors and finding and educating new investors
  • Identifying and monitoring capital markets trends in terms of products, price and available capacity
  • Helps in the development and implementation of Swiss Re's ILS distribution strategy
  • Works closely with ILS structurers and sponsors to shape structure and placement tactics
  • Prepare distribution pitches
  • Lead secondary ILS customer trading and the production of weekly and month-end ILS pricing sheet
  • Arranges and attends marketing events
  • Publishes periodic updates on the ILS market for our investors and maintains Swiss Re's Capital Markets web-site


About the Team:


Since 1997 Swiss Re's Insurance-Linked Securities Group ("ILS") has been a global market leader in the origination, structuring and distribution of ILS.  The team currently totals 9 people in London and New York with dedicated teams for structuring and sales/customer trading.  ILS continues to be a rapidly growing area where insurance and the capital markets coverage.



About You:


  • University Degree is a must - Master degrees is a plus
  • NASD Series 7 designation (willingness  to get the  designation upon joining  the team)
  • Thorough Capital Markets and/or reinsurance knowledge
  • Proven sales capabilities
  • Ability to frame and sell complex transactions
  • Exceptional communication skills to foster key relationship with investors, clients and internal stakeholders
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Excellent networking skills
  • High level of energy to bring complex and large transactions to closure
  • Strong team player, including ability to work well with teams in multiple locations across organizational boundaries
  • Passion, pragmatic, "can do" attitude with demonstrated stamina
