About the role

Individual(s) will work with Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, and Risk Engineering on creating and analysing databases which will assist in improving the units rating systems and underwriting guidelines. They will also work with Underwriting to improve efficiencies in the division by becoming entrenched in the everyday Underwriting process. By the end of the internship the individuals will have a thorough understanding of the construction casualty insurance industry inclusive of all the different types of occupations available to them in the future. 

 

About the team

The Construction North America team is a direct writer of both Professional Liability and Casualty Insurance business domestically. The book totals $60M in written premium annually. Underwriters sit in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and New York. Support staff sits throughout the globe and include actuarial, claims, legal, and risk engineering. The team has broker partners throughout the world which they work with to obtain business.

 

About you (requirements)

  • Someone in a Bachelors or Masters program majoring in Business, Insurance, Mathematics, or Actuarial Sciences.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
    • Knows how to produce functions and macros
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong operational skills
  • Good work ethic
  • Consistent in their daily routine
