About the Role and Team

The Americas Region of Swiss Re is the largest financial contributor to the global Reinsurance business. Our business priorities include maintaining a market leading position; generating profitable premium growth; providing capital management solutions to clients; growing our franchise and delivering best-in-class service to our clients and brokers.

Broker engagement and business development across the priorities is essential to our success as a lead reinsurer and a clear, strategic engagement and growth strategy is needed to deliver our plan.

Our Broker Sales Management team works across all relevant teams to develop and strengthen our relationships and overall position in the broker market, working with brokers to sell our reinsurance solutions and generate P&C opportunities across all client segments


As Head of US P&C Broker Sales Management, you will:

  • Develop and execute Strategic Engagement plans, including specific actions and measurables for success, for key Reinsurance brokers
  • Originate new business with US broker market through anticipatory, consultative, needs-orientated sales approach
  • Collaborate and cooperate closely with business functions to develop and strengthen differentiation to clearly position Swiss Re as the leading reinsurance player
  • Establish position as Swiss Re "go-to" contact for brokers. Build and maintain trusting relationships broker partners
  • Lead and develop talent for optimal success
  • Establish key performance metrics (KPIs) for key broker partners in line with Americas and BU financial goals. Use smart analytics to harness data to manage, steer and communicate broker financial results to key partners
  • Partner with and support Swiss Re leadership with C-suite meeting prep and briefing documents as needed
  • Position Swiss Re as the 'go-to' reinsurer via positive relationships and delivery driving continuous improvement in NPS
  • Clarify Swiss Re capability and appetite through a win- win and systemic approach
  • Collect and share regional updates on key broker activity for group reporting
  • Be an out-of-the box problem solver; develop new insights/solutions to differentiate Swiss Re from competitors
  • Engage and participate in industry events representing Swiss Re


About You

  • University degree, or equivalent, with a strong business component preferred
  • 10+ years in insurance and/or reinsurance, underwriting experience a plus
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills
  • Pronounced knowledge and understanding of (re)insurance market including broker relationships, market trends and dynamics
  • Experience in C-suite and executive partner engagement
  • Client-centric entrepreneurial mindset and a focus on execution
  • Comfortable engaging executive management on various and evolving topics
  • Pragmatic "can do" mentality
  • Effective communication, facilitation, and networking skills
  • Collaborative, standout colleague including ability to work well with multiple stakeholders from various business units and locations
  • Experience with leading teams that are not direct reports



NY preferred but Chicago, LA, Atlanta, Schaumburg acceptable
