About the Team:

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is a leading global market in the Weather, Energy Commodity & Power Plant risk transfer market. We offer a wide range of climate, power, natural gas, and power plant outage risk solutions in insurance and capital market form. Our clients include power and gas utilities, retailers, independent power producers (IPPs), renewables, banks, and other energy industry sectors.


About the Role:

This position is a Sales & Structuring role with direct annual premium and bottom line profitability goals. The primary responsibilities for this role include:

  • Structure weather and energy risks for existing customers
  • Identify and develop new clients and distribution channels
  • Originate renewable risk transfer business in wholesale energy sector, including IPPs, utilities, banks/project finance firms, and potentially construction companies
  • Coordinate underwriting analysis and external client negotiation
  • Represent Swiss Re at conferences and other market events, including pursuing panellist and speaking engagements
  • Develop business plans, sales strategies, client lists, and new product identification
  • Track and monitor reporting of Sales/Marketing activities via Swiss Re applications


About You:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in wholesale power/gas and renewable markets with emphasis on deal structuring, marketing/sales, and new business (P&L) generation experience
  • Previous direct revenue, and P&L responsibilities required
  • MBA in Marketing, Strategy, or Finance preferred
  • Foreign language skills a benefit
  • Travel required. Up to 50% during peak selling season
  • Previous transactional history with power or renewable energy clients is preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global team environment
