Performance Portfolio Manager

Imagine being in a role where you are the primary liaison between Strategy, Operations and Finance as well as FinPro and Casualty leadership and acting as a trusted advisor to the North America Head of FinPro and Casualty.  You will be the primary operations point of contact and proactively partner with line of business leaders to deliver value and efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support North America Head FinPro and Casualty team to develop and design one unified strategy for the North Aamerica FinPro and Casualty Business
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance and Portfolio Management functions to develop a suite of reports that will enable financial reporting and portfolio steering of North America FinPro and Casualty portfolio.  Incorporate leading operational KPIs that link to the financial (KPI) Key Performance Indicators to generate timely assessment of progress towards strategic initiatives
  • Institute reporting cadence to update the business on such operational KPIs and performance.  Develop plans to improve relevant operational KPIs
  • Drive productivity and efficiency leveraging a full suite of tools and approaches including automation, outsourcing, process improvements etc.
  • Provide professionalized project management expertise and manage cross functional teams to support and drive business projects
  • Strategic Reporting and Business Updates: build/coordinate content for meetings and presentations (Quarterly Business Reviews, Board Updates, CEO and Senior Stakeholder visits to the region, etc.)
  • Optimize feedback loops across Reserving, Claims and Pricing to ensure seamless information exchange and timely reaction to emerging risks.  Act as an ad hoc coordinator / liaison to proactively surface and address issues and opportunities
  • (Support North America FinPro and Casualty leader) to define and prioritize regional strategic initiatives, including regional management teams key objectives
  • Execute initiatives: drive implementation with stakeholders and their leadership teams, hold team accountable; ensure clear communication and messaging

 

Essentials

  • 7+ years in finance, strategy, consulting or equivalent re/insurance industry work experience
  • Bachelor's degree, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical and quantitative abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational management
  • Ability to think operationally, tactically, and strategically

 

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of information systems and/or ability to learn and navigate
  • Intermediate PowerPoint and excel proficiency
  • Highly motivated, collaborative and capable of working across all levels of the organization, functions and geographies
  • Strong ability to build relationships while driving projects or activities to completion

 

For the Sate of California and New York City the estimated base salary range for this position is $128,000 to $225,000.  The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.  At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions.
