About the Role:

The primary responsibility of this role is to work on new business submissions of Facultative North America's Flow Property business from broker and direct channels. This opportunity is for a high producing Property Underwriter to work with a diverse group of clients. On this role is a substantial volume of submissions where one will take a portfolio approach to the business using current and creative initiatives and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently underwrite a large volume of Property accounts with a TIV of up to $500,000,000 (Flow Business), for a broad range of industry segments.
  • Maintain underwriting quality and profitability following group underwriting guidelines.
  • Capitalize on underwriting and processing efficiencies by using existing and "Smart & Lean" approaches and tools.
  • Find opportunities to move portfolios to Facilities or Swift Re growing overall proficiency of the Facultative team.
  • Implement an effective marketing plan in collaboration with other Fac units: Complex, Facilities and SwiftRe, to ensure we maintain a high level of flow of new submissions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of single risk underwriting experience.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of the Property Fac market.
  • Familiarity with insurance modeling and conceptual understanding of rating tools and underwriting systems are a plus.
  • High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently while still operating as an excellent teammate with an open and inquisitive mind.
  • Travel required as needed.
