Mission statement:

Manage and develop client relationship with French Life & Health insurance entities (insurance companies, mutual companies," institutions de prévoyance") in order to put in place reinsurance operations, drive new business opportunities and develop relationships.  The business consists of reinsurance solutions related to insurance risks management and protection, notably in connection with insurance products development, and reinsurance solutions supporting financial steering of insurance companies.


About the role :


  • As a Senior Client Manager, you will maintain and develop relationship with client and prospect insurance entities and their members, and more broadly with the French Life & Health insurance market:
  • You will detect new business opportunities, whether with existing clients or with prospects
  • You will develop and make the best of a clients and prospects portfolio, identify and understand their needs and propose appropriate Swiss Re reinsurance solutions and services.
  • You will keep abreast of market evolutions, with products offer and demand, distribution opportunities, market competition, as well as with society, economics, financial and legal insurance environment matters.
  • You will analyze the cedents reinsurance needs, related to technical risks cover and/or development of insurance products.
  • You will lead discussions with insurers companies, build and formalize answers and reinsurance offers, in collaboration with Swiss Re's actuarial and underwriting teams.
  • You will determine the client's needs, which arise in financial monitoring perspective: balance sheet monitoring (capital/ solvency margin requirements, reserves, assets), profit & loss account (financing needs, monitoring of profit and of volatility). 
  • You will negotiate with clients the terms and conditions of the proposed solutions, in order to finalize efficiently the deals with cedents and implement the reinsurance treaties. You will ensure compliance with Swiss Re's guidelines and follow the internal validation process. 
  • You will have a close and active follow up of your reinsurance book, of in force business evolution, in particular in terms of profit and renewals.
  • You will take an active part in the designing and execution of marketing and communication actions toward insurance clients and prospects, with the objective of enlarging client and business basis.
  • You will be the Swiss Re Ambassador and represent Swiss re in representations


About you:


  • 5 to 10 years experience
  • Experience of commercial relationships and prospection. Reinsurance or insurance industry experience, with solid practice of reinsurance solutions. Consultancy experience is welcome.
  • Commercial skills: strong interpersonal skills, client centricity, hunting spirit. Negotiation skills, ability to listen and to observe, judgement capability, flexibility. Extensive relationship potential including at senior levels, pro-active and anticipative behavior, ability to have appropriate initiative, good team player.
  • Scientific background and training, actuarial and/or insurance, knowledge of life & health insurance risks, of insurance products including technical expertise background, and needs of markets and distribution channels. Knowledge and practice of reinsurance techniques and solutions, of reinsurance treaties. Familiar with insurance accounting aspects and with legal environment of insurance and reinsurance contracts.
  • Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance market in France, of players with their industry, financial and economic environment.
  • Hard worker capability, especially for activity peaks, for business negotiation and delivery situations under stringent time constraints; rigorous and accurate work deliverer.
  • Fully fluent in French and English
